This Quickboost set contains resin ASO-2V flare dispensers for models of the Mil Mi-8MT and Mi-17 helicopters. It is an accessory for a base kit, not a helicopter model. According to its designation this is the empty variant, that is the blocks shown with no charges in the tubes, which suits a machine built after a flight or in a state where the dispensers are not loaded.
On a model the dispenser blocks are among the details that are clearly visible on the sides and on the tail section, and at the same time injection-molded plastic can only render them in a simplified way. A resin casting can hold the fine structure of the individual tubes and the sharp edges that get lost in plastic. The set is fitted in place of the plastic parts, or onto smooth areas of the fuselage where the base kit does not have them.
First wash the resin parts in warm water with detergent so that no mold release agent stays on the surface. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc, never break them off, and level the mating surface on abrasive paper. Protect your airways when sanding resin. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a primer before painting; it pays to emphasize the tubes with a dark wash so that they look deep.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
