Self-adhesive pre-cut masks Eduard 1:48 Mirage IIICJ made of kabuki tape, for clean masking of the canopy glazing and the wheels of a fighter model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A precisely pre-cut self-adhesive masking set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a model of the French Dassault Mirage IIICJ supersonic delta-wing fighter, operated by the Israeli Air Force under the nickname Shahak, in 1:48 scale. The set is made of yellow kabuki tape, which holds on flat and curved surfaces alike and, once the edges are pressed down, gives a sharp paint transition.
The masks cover the canopy glazing frames and other clear parts, so the glass stays clean and the frames have sharp edges. Circular masks for the hubs and the wheel rims are included as well, for easy separation of the tire from the rim. There is no need to cut tape with a knife and no risk of scratching the transparent parts.
Lift the individual masks off the backing carefully with pointed tweezers, lay them on the part and press the edges down thoroughly (with a toothpick or a piece of tissue, for instance) so that paint cannot bleed under the edge. Cover the larger areas of glass between the frames with a strip of ordinary tape or with masking fluid. Spray the paint in thin coats and peel the masks off while the coat is still fresh — the edges stay sharpest that way.
This is a self-adhesive masking set, not a model. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
