Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero exhausts 1:48 is a 3D printed detail set from the manufacturer Eduard, the Brassin line. It replaces the plastic exhausts with accurate parts with fine relief.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not an aircraft model but an add-on detail set for building a model of the Japanese A6M2 Zero fighter in 1:48 scale. The set holds exhaust stacks made by direct 3D printing that replace the original plastic parts from the kit and raise the fidelity of the engine section.
3D printing allows open exhaust mouths and a fine surface texture that are hard to achieve in injection-molded plastic. The parts are designed as a direct replacement, so they drop into the place of the original exhausts without major modification.
Separate the parts carefully from the print supports with a sharp knife, level the mating faces and sand them with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the surface before painting; a coat of primer and then toning of the metallic and sooted shades with an airbrush works well.
The detail set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
