This detail set from the Czech maker Eduard brings replacement resin main landing gear wheels for the model of the Japanese Mitsubishi A6M3 Zero carrier fighter in 1:48 scale. The castings have a crisp tire tread and fine hub detail and replace the softer plastic parts from the base kit. This is not an airplane model but an accessory that improves one.
The Mitsubishi A6M Zero was the best known Japanese carrier fighter of the Second World War; the A6M3 variant brought changes to the engine and the wings. The landing gear wheels are among the visible details where a crisper casting pays off.
Wash any resin residue off the parts and separate them from the casting blocks. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); sand with respiratory protection. The tires will look best in a matte blackish gray with a light dusting; set the hub apart with a shade taken from the real subject.
It is supplied as an unassembled and unpainted resin detail set. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
