The injection-molded plastic kit Nakajima A6M2-N Rufe from Hasegawa in 1:48 scale captures the Japanese floatplane fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This kit from Hasegawa brings the Japanese Nakajima A6M2-N floatplane fighter, nicknamed Rufe, in 1:48 scale. It is an injection-molded plastic model to be assembled and painted, with a detailed fuselage, floats and cockpit.
The A6M2-N was created at Nakajima by converting the A6M2 Zero carrier fighter into a floatplane. It received a large central float under the fuselage and a pair of auxiliary floats under the wings. It served with the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service to defend bases and remote islands where there were no runways. The nickname Rufe was given to it by the Allies.
Use thin modeling cement on the joints of the plastic parts and finish the cockpit before you close up the fuselage. Attaching the floats calls for careful alignment of the struts. Apply a primer before painting, spray the camouflage with an airbrush and mask the canopy glazing. Apply the decals over a gloss varnish. A stand is handy for display.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
