Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale captures the North American Mustang fighter in the Mk.IV version. Mustang Mk.IV is the British RAF service designation of the late, Merlin-powered version of the famous American Mustang fighter, which the Royal Air Force operated in the Second World War. The mark of this generation is the cut-down rear fuselage and the teardrop, or bubble, canopy, which gave the pilot all-round vision.
The Mustang was originally developed by an American manufacturer for the Royal Air Force, and after being re-engined with the Rolls-Royce Merlin, built under license by Packard, it became one of the best long-range escort fighters of the war. The RAF operated Mustangs under its own name, and the late version with the bubble canopy carried the Mk.IV series designation in British service; this name corresponds to the late American P-51D version, related to the machines from Dallas production, which the RAF listed as Mk.IVa. The aircraft excelled in range, speed and firepower.
This is an injection-molded plastic kit, so use thin modeling cement for plastic on the joints. Glue the clear bubble canopy with a canopy glue that does not cloud the plastic, and mask it while spraying. Finish the cockpit and the landing gear before closing the fuselage. Apply a primer before the airbrush work; for a faithful metal appearance polished metal shades, a gloss coat under the decals and a fine wash of the panel lines work well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
