Quickboost 1:48 OV-1 Mohawk propellers with a jig is a resin set of cast propellers for a model of the American Grumman OV-1 Mohawk turboprop reconnaissance aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin set from Quickboost, made by Aires, brings faithfully cast propellers for a model of the American twin-engine Grumman OV-1 Mohawk turboprop reconnaissance aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model but a detail accessory for more experienced modelers, replacing the plastic propellers with a crisper casting with the correct blade section.
The Grumman OV-1 Mohawk was an American twin-engine turboprop aircraft for battlefield reconnaissance and observation, operated by the US Army. It was powered by a pair of turboprop engines, each with a three-blade propeller. The crew of two sat side by side and the aircraft served, among other places, in Vietnam, in Central and South America and during Operation Desert Storm.
First wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue from the mold. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw and sand the cut surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate), not with plastic cement. When you put the blades together, use the jig supplied, which ensures the correct and symmetrical angle.
The set is supplied as a resin part, unassembled and unpainted. It is not an airplane model but an accessory for a plastic kit. Glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
