A photo-etched metal set in 1:48 scale for a model of the OV-10D+ observation and light attack aircraft. Fine metal parts where plastic is too coarse for the scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The OV-10, known by the name Bronco, is a twin-engine observation and light attack aircraft with a pair of tail booms, a high-set wing and a tandem cabin that is glazed unusually generously. That is exactly what matters to the modeler: the cabin can be seen into from both sides and from above, so every simplified detail shows on it. The designation OV-10D+ belongs to a late standard of this type.
Thin metal parts etched from sheet. They replace items that are necessarily thicker in injection-molded plastic than in reality: instrument panels, controls, restraint belts and buckles, grilles, covers and small sheet-metal details on the surface. The extent of the fret and what the individual parts are for is given in the instructions supplied.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface; snapping them off bends the edge and it is then hard to straighten. Make the bends along a sharp edge or in a bending tool so that they come out crisp, and try dry first where the part is to go. Degrease the metal before painting and give it a primer coat, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. Dose cyanoacrylate glue drop by drop, and fewer drops are always needed than it seems.
The set is an accessory to a kit. Paints, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
