This is not an airplane model but a set for experienced modelers that replaces the landing gear spaces from the base kit with faithfully detailed resin bays with cast runs of lines, piping and wall structure. The set raises the realism when the aircraft is shown with the landing gear extended.
The Bell P-39 Airacobra is a single-seat single-engine fighter with an unusual layout: the engine sat behind the pilot in the middle of the fuselage, the propeller was driven by an extended driveshaft and the aircraft had nose gear. Its armament, firing through the propeller hub, was characteristic as well.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, separate them from the casting blocks and bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate); protect your airways when sanding resin. Apply a primer, spray the spaces with an airbrush and pick out the structure with a wash and a dry brush. Before gluing them in, check the fit with the particular kit.
