A resin detail part, not an airplane kit. This finely cast resin set replaces the intercooler exhaust outlet (the flap) of the American Republic P-47 Thunderbolt fighter in 1:48 scale. Thanks to its turbocharger the Thunderbolt had a branched cooling system with several outlets on the fuselage, and rendering them faithfully lifts the look of the model markedly. The part is intended for modelers who want to refine the engine section quickly and accurately.
The outlets of the cooling and turbocharging system are among the characteristic details of the Thunderbolt fuselage sides, and their depth and shape affect the overall impression. The casting captures the open flap and the inner wall of the outlet, which are hard to create out of solid plastic. After painting and a light wash the area gains depth and the aircraft looks believable in scale.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
