A color set of 3D-printed interior decals from Quinta Studio for models of the early version of the American P-51B/C Mustang fighter in 1:48 scale. It is neither a kit nor photo-etch: they are three-dimensional, pre-painted decals on a flexible film that you apply straight into the cockpit. The panels have a raised multi-level structure and dial faces covered with a gloss coat for a glass look.
The P-51B/C was the version of the Mustang with the British Merlin engine, which turned the aircraft into an outstanding long-range escort fighter. The early machines still had the conventional spined canopy; in that form they escorted bomber formations deep over enemy territory.
The parts are lifted off the sheet and applied much like decals with lukewarm water. The thicker film is best fixed with cyanoacrylate or another suitable glue; do not use ordinary decal setting solutions. The interior gains realistic depth without photo-etch and without painting the dials by hand.
The set holds interior decals only. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
