Responsibility details are not available.
A set of paint masks from the brand Eduard in 1:48 scale for the early version of the P-51B and P-51C fighter. It is not a kit but an accessory to a model. The set is meant for the original framed canopy, which is a crucial distinction, because some of these Mustangs received the bulged Malcolm Hood canopy, and a separate item is aimed at that. The TFace designation means a double-sided form, that is masks for the outside and the inside of the glazing.
The North American P-51B and P-51C were the first Mustangs with the license-built British Merlin engine. That turned what had been an average machine into an escort fighter able to protect bomber formations all the way over Germany. The two versions differed only in the factory where they were built. Characteristic of them is the razorback decking behind the cockpit, which gave the pilot a poorer view to the rear, and exactly that framed canopy, which on some machines was changed for the bulged one.
Wash the glazing and let it dry. Paint the inside of the frames with the interior color first, and once dry move to the outer camouflage. Press the edges of the masks down with a blunt tool so that paint does not run underneath, and spray thin coats. Take the mask off shortly after the paint has flashed off. Check that you really are building the variant with the framed canopy.
