This set from the aircraft aftermarket manufacturer Aires/Quickboost is a resin replacement for the propellers of a model of the P-61A Black Widow night fighter in 1:48 scale. A jig, an assembly aid, is included that makes it easier to seat the blades in the hub at a uniform angle. It is not an airplane kit but a detail accessory that replaces the plastic propellers from the base kit with more finely cast parts with a more faithful blade profile.
The Northrop P-61 Black Widow was an American twin-engine night fighter from the end of the Second World War, equipped with a radar for night interceptions. On a twin-engine airframe the pair of propellers is among the prominent and clearly visible features.
First wash the mold release residue off the resin part, carefully cut off the casting block and sand the surface with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Use the enclosed jig to set a uniform blade angle; we recommend painting the propellers separately and picking out the blade tips to match period subjects.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
