The Quickboost (Aires) set in 1:48 scale holds precisely cast barrels for the American Northrop P-61B Black Widow night fighter. It is a detail accessory, not a kit of the airplane: the resin barrels replace the plastic parts from the boxed kit and as a rule have drilled mouths, so they look more faithful than the injection-molded originals.
The Northrop P-61 Black Widow was the first American aircraft designed from the outset as a night fighter fitted with radar. The twin-engine, twin-boom machine carried heavy armament, among it 20 mm cannon in the lower part of the fuselage. It was committed to action at the close of the Second World War in the Pacific as well as the European theater.
Wash the parts free of mold release residue, separate them from the casting blocks and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways while sanding. It is enough to paint the barrels in a dark metallic shade and pick them out lightly, so that their delicacy stands out.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin detail set. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
