A set of waterslide decals from the British maker Xtradecal in 1:48 scale. It holds Royal Air Force type B roundels in several sizes, so that they cover various positions on the fuselage and the wings and various types of aircraft. The historical national marking is reproduced here plainly as a reference for modelers.
British national markings went through a number of changes in the course of their history. Type B is the two-color variant made up of a red center and a blue outer ring, without the white and yellow bands. It was used above all on the upper surfaces of camouflaged aircraft, where the lower contrast made the machine less conspicuous from the air. The set makes it possible to unify or complete these markings across models.
Apply the roundels over a smooth gloss clear coat so that no matte rim appears around them. Soak the element, slide it into place and settle it with softener so that it also clings to the engraved panel lines. Watch for symmetrical placing in relation to the center line of the wing or the fuselage. Once dry, go over them with varnish to the gloss level you want.
This is a stand-alone set of decals, not a kit. The model, the paints and the varnish are not included in the package.
