It is a detail accessory for a kit that replaces the plastic doors and brings a finer rendering, thinner to scale, with a faithful relief.
The Douglas SBD Dauntless was an American carrier-based dive bomber of the Second World War, famous above all for the fighting in the Pacific. The SBD-5 version was among the most widely built configurations. The main landing gear doors are clearly visible on a model with the landing gear lowered, so a thin rendering raises the realism.
Wash the mold release agent off the castings, cut off the casting blocks and clean them up. Bond them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Protect your airways while sanding. The doors are painted together with the landing gear bays, and the details can be picked out with a wash.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
