A basic photo-etched set for the Sd.Kfz.184 Elefant in 1:48 scale is an accessory for a kit you have already bought, not a model of the tank destroyer. It adds thin metal parts in the places where plastic is too thick for the scale. The target kit is from Tamiya.

This item is not a kit of the vehicle but a basic photo-etched detail set for a model you buy separately. It is cut for the kit of the Sd.Kfz.184 Elefant heavy tank destroyer in 1:48 scale from the Tamiya brand. It is made by the Czech brand Hauler.
The basic set is aimed at the elements that on the real subject take the form of sheet, wire or perforation: the grilles above the engine compartment, the covers, the eyes, the tool clamps, the grab handles and the small flanges. On heavy vehicles these are at the same time the places the eye notices first on a finished model, because they repeat along the whole length of the hull. Photo-etched sheet has a thickness matching the scale, and with grilles light genuinely passes through, which cannot be impressed into injection-molded plastic in this scale.
Leave the sheet whole until the last moment and take the parts off it one by one. Separate them with a scalpel on a hard surface and sand the fret tab remnant down with a needle file. Think the order out before bending; with parts having several bends the rule is that the inner bends go first. Bend along the line, and anneal a stiffer piece briefly over a flame, so that it softens and does not crack at the bend. Degrease everything with spirit before gluing. It is glued with super glue in a minimal amount. Add the tool clamps and the finest grab handles only after the base coat has been sprayed, or they will break off while the model is handled. Always put a primer under the metal, or you will wipe the paint off with a cloth while weathering.
The Sd.Kfz.184 Elefant is a German heavy tank destroyer of the Second World War. It carries an 88 mm gun in a fixed superstructure with no rotating turret, its chassis grew out of an unsuccessful competing design for a heavy tank, and the drive has gasoline-electric transmission. The vehicles first committed in 1943 under the designation Ferdinand went through a modification in which they were given among other things a machine gun in the front wall of the hull and a commander's cupola, and they were redesignated as the Elefant. Their great weight limited their mobility and the bridges they could cross.
The set is an accessory for a kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
