Die-cut painting masks, Sea Hurricane Mk. I, in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Eduard. An accessory for easy, accurate masking while painting; not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of precisely die-cut painting masks for a model of the Sea Hurricane Mk. I naval fighter in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Eduard of Obrnice near Most. The masks are cut from yellow masking material and serve for fast, clean masking of the cabin glazing, the wheels and other areas. It is an accessory for a plastic kit, not a standalone model.
The Sea Hurricane was the naval version of the famous British Hawker Hurricane fighter, adapted for use from aircraft carriers and escort vessels. It served above all in the early years of the Second World War protecting convoys. The Mk. I was one of the first naval conversions of the type.
The individual masks are transferred onto the glazing with tweezers and follow the shape of the cabin frames exactly. Once they are stuck down, the area is oversprayed with paint and the masks are lifted off when it has dried, which gives a sharp transition without outlining by hand. Circular masks for the wheels, for a clean separation of the tire from the hub, are usually included.
This is a set of masks, not a complete model. The kit and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
