Thirteen marking options for Spitfires from South East Asia, decals for models in 1:48 scale.

South East Asia Command tends to stand in the shadow of the European theater, yet it was there that Spitfires met conditions they had not been built for: damp, dust, the monsoon and airfields hacked out of the jungle. The sheet gathers thirteen aircraft that went through that environment in 1944 and 1945.
The Mk.VIII version is the most numerous, carried by ten of the thirteen options. It is joined by two Mk.VC aircraft and one Mk.XIVE from Singapore in 1945. Among the units you will find No. 615, No. 81, No. 152, No. 607, No. 67, No. 155 and No. 17 Squadron, plus one aircraft of a fighter training unit. The pilots' names include members of the Royal Australian Air Force and the Royal New Zealand Air Force, who served in this area alongside the British.
Thirteen options on one sheet mean that a single sheet will do for several models. It pays to cut sparingly, close around the printing, and to keep the rest in the dark and dry so that the film does not yellow. The color schemes of South East Asia also differ from the European ones: expect dark green and dark gray upper camouflage. Aircraft from this theater usually also carried broad bands on the wings and tail surfaces, so the finished model never looks dull, even if it stays with a single shade of base color.
