A set of colored photo-etched metal parts in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It is not a kit but a detail accessory – the seat belts for seats. The color print is laid directly onto the photo-etched parts, so they are not a pattern to copy but an element of the interior that can be used straight away. Intended for models of USAAF and US Navy aircraft of the Second World War period.
Seat belts are among the most noticeable details of an open cockpit. Faithful multi-part belts with stitching and buckles bring the pilot's seat to life markedly and replace a missing or simplified plastic rendition. The set holds several sets of belts for various types of American aircraft of the period.
The parts are separated with a sharp knife, bent carefully into a naturally draping shape and glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The color print can be filled out with light shading or a light clear coat to even out the sheen. The belts look best when they drape loosely over the edge of the seat.
The accessory comes as a separate photo-etched set. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
