A pre-painted resin instrument panel and steel belts make up the 1:48 Sikorsky MH-60L LooK set, a finished interior detail for the special version of the Black Hawk.
Responsibility details are not available.
The LooK range rests on a simple idea: cast the instrument panel in resin, print it with finished dials and pack steel restraint belts with it. The 1:48 Sikorsky MH-60L LooK set therefore replaces the plastic cockpit part with a single piece that only has to be set in place.
The instrument panel of the helicopter is densely occupied and in plastic it tends to be rendered as a flat wall with the outlines merely suggested. The casting carries real raised instrument bezels and cover glass imitated by a gloss layer. The steel belts from the same package then complete the seats of both pilots.
This version of the Black Hawk served with American special operations units and became known for its use in Somalia in 1993. It differed from the ordinary army version in its navigation and observation equipment for flying at night and at low level, in auxiliary tanks and, in the armed form, in side weapons as well.
Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before gluing so that any mold release agent residue disappears. Cut the casting block off with a fine-toothed saw and level the surface on sandpaper. Do not paint over the printed face of the panel, or you will lose the effect the set is bought for.
