A set for the pilot's compartment of a Supermarine Spitfire Mk.V model in 1:48 scale. The scope of the set and the target kit are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.V was the most numerously built version of this British fighter. It was deployed from 1941 over the Channel, over Malta and in North Africa, and it was powered by the Merlin V12. The cockpit stayed narrow on this version too, with a side door and a tube frame along the sides of the seat; under a slid-back canopy you see more of it than a modeler expects.
The set is intended to fit out the pilot's compartment of a model in 1:48 scale. It replaces the parts a kit deals with in a simplified way and adds fine shapes that cannot be achieved on an injection-molded part. In 1:48 scale the cockpit is small, but it decides the final impression all the more, because it lies in the line of sight onto the model. What exactly the set contains, which kit it is intended for and what modifications it will call for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts are not polystyrene, so ordinary plastic cement has no effect on them; make the joints with super glue. Cut the excess material off a little way from the part with a sharp blade and sand the remainder down so that the shape is not damaged. Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap and degrease them, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. The particular procedure for preparing them is given in the manufacturer's instructions. Seat the cockpit tub dry first and thin the fuselage walls from the inside as needed. Paint and shade the interior before you close the fuselage up.
The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
