A detail resin cockpit set for a model of the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk. XIVc fighter in 1:48 scale from Aires. This is not an airplane kit but an accessory for improving a plastic kit of the matching type. The set replaces the simplified cockpit from the box with precisely cast parts: a cockpit tub, an instrument panel, a seat, the levers and side consoles with fine relief.
The Spitfire Mk. XIV was a late version of the famous British fighter with boosted performance. What set it apart from the earlier forms was the more powerful Rolls-Royce Griffon V12 engine and a five-blade propeller, thanks to which its speed and its rate of climb rose. It was deployed in the closing stage of the Second World War, among other things against fast targets. The c designation refers to the universal type of wing.
Wash the mold release residue off the parts, separate them from the casting blocks and dry-fit them: depending on the kit the inner walls of the fuselage may have to be modified. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and protect your airways when sanding resin. The relief comes into its own once painted with an airbrush and picked out with a wash.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
