This is a resin detail set from the Eduard Brassin line in 1:48 scale. It contains a set of fishtail exhaust stacks for models of the British Supermarine Spitfire fighter. It is not a kit of an aircraft in its own right, but an accessory with which you replace the plastic exhausts from the box with more faithful castings with hollowed mouths and fine surface texture.
The exhausts are among the details of the Spitfire fuselage most exposed to the eye. Fishtail stacks were used on a range of versions, and an accurate casting with open mouths markedly lifts the impression of a finished model. The set is intended for Supermarine Spitfire models in 1:48 scale.
First wash the mold release agent off the resin parts with warm soapy water. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The exhausts come into their own with metallic shades and subsequent emphasis from pigments and washes.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
