1:48 Sten Gun Mk.II is a resin set of six British submachine guns in two stock forms and two separate magazines for figures and scenes in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set is put together so as to cover various situations in a scene. It contains two submachine guns with a tubular stock and two with a frame stock, both pairs with the magazine fitted, then one piece of each stock without a magazine and on top of that two loose magazines.
The Sten Mk.II went into production in August 1941 and became the most widespread version of the whole family; over two million were made. It fired a nine-millimeter round from a side-mounted thirty-two-round magazine. The weapon was deliberately simple and cheap, which secured it a place with British and Allied units, with paratroopers and in the resistance. It is exactly that angular austerity that gave it an unmistakable silhouette.
A loose magazine makes it possible to build a scene with reloading or with the weapon set aside. Separate the parts from the supports with a straight cut along the barrel and level the flash with a file. A metallic look comes from a dark base and a gentle lightening of the edges; on some pieces the wooden parts will come to life with a thin glaze.
The weapons come unpainted and on their print supports, to complete finished figures.
