A set of masking templates for the Su-17UM3 Fitter-G in 1:48 scale from New Ware, cut from kabuki paper; the level of the set, EXPERT, is given in the name.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for a model, not a kit of the aircraft. The set contains pre-cut masking templates for the Su-17UM3 in 1:48 scale, cut from kabuki paper, that is, thin Japanese tape with a weak adhesive. It conforms well to curves, holds a crisp paint edge and leaves no sticky residue when removed. The level of the set is part of the name and determines the extent of the masking; check the exact list of templates on the box of the set.
The Su-17UM3 is the two-seat trainer and combat variant of the Soviet Su-17 fighter-bomber, that is, of the type with a variable-geometry wing. The NATO code for this version is Fitter-G. Two cockpits one behind the other, and with them longer glazing, mean more frames to mask for a modeler; pre-cut templates therefore save appreciably more work on this subject than on single-seat machines.
Degrease the surface before sticking the masks on and let the base color dry perfectly. Move the templates with tweezers and press them down with a blunt tool all the way round. Apply the paint with an airbrush in several thin coats and spray perpendicularly rather than at a shallow angle, otherwise the paint will seep under. Take the mask off shortly after the paint has dried, slowly and at a shallow angle toward yourself. With the glazing, do not forget the order of work: the interior and the cabin frame first, and only then gluing the part into the fuselage.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The model itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
