This part will round a part-built car model out with more faithful rubber. There are two 19-inch versions of the same pattern in the range and this is the narrower one, with a tread matching a size of 245 millimeters. The size is given directly in the name, so it can be chosen without trying it, and the build thereby gains a clearly set specification.
The R888R is a racing tire homologated for use on the road, which Toyo builds on an asymmetric drawing of the tread. A wide center band improves the response to steering, while massive blocks on the shoulders hold the car through a corner. The manufacturer recommends it for competition use, so it appears mainly at track days.
An asymmetric drawing means that the rubber has an outer and an inner side; before fitting, therefore, check the orientation, so that it is the same on all the wheels. Leave the surface matte and set only the sidewall slightly apart. The narrower version is usually put on the front axle, so it pays to separate it from the wider pair right away and not mix them up during the build. The narrower size does not lower the demand for exact seating into the bead seat, though.
