A set for painting the cockpit glazing of this Soviet attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. There is no model in the package; it is an accessory that replaces the lengthy cutting of tape straight on the clear part and gives the frames a straight edge. According to the name the shapes are prepared for both sides of the glazing. The target kit is Zvezda.
The Su-25 was created as a subsonic aircraft for direct support of ground forces, built to survive hits from the ground. The pilot sits in a welded armored tub, the engines are on the sides of the fuselage and the machine carries a heavy load under the wing. The type proved itself in mountain conditions and serves in many countries to this day. The cockpit looks robust and the frames are markedly heavier than on fighters, which is an advantage when painting: the edge is clearly visible, but all the more noticeable when it is not straight.
Attack aircraft are often finished with a heavy layer of dirt and wear, so leave the masks in place until the color coat is done and only then start weathering. Choose thin coats of paint and let them rest in between. When spraying a dark shade over a light base, it pays to run the edge over lightly with the base color first; any creep will then not be visible. Lift the shapes off at a sharp angle, not straight up.
