Supermarine Spitfire Mk.V in Polish service, part II decals in 1:48 scale widen the choice of markings for a model of this fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
A Model Maker decal sheet in 1:48 scale for a model of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.V fighter, designated as the second part of a series devoted to the Polish service of the type. A first part also exists, so if you are building a particular machine it pays to compare the two sheets. The set is an accessory for a finished, painted model and holds none of its parts.
The markings supplied with a kit tend to be a compromise: they cover a few of the best-known machines, the printing need no longer match what is possible today, and on older molds the film tends to be thick and yellowed. A separate sheet gives the modeler the choice of which machine to build and at the same time tends to be thinner and more pliable. That is the main reason why additional decals are bought even for models that have markings of their own.
The method is the usual one: a gloss clear varnish as the surface, the decal soaked in lukewarm water, placed with plenty of water, the surplus blotted off and a softener on curved areas. If a motif shifts or wrinkles, do not try to tear it off at once - dampen it again and wait a while until the adhesive softens, and only then move it. Once the film is torn, it is usually better to let it dry in place, disguise the join with a thin layer of overcoat and touch any remains in with a brush. When everything is done, seal the whole model with a matte varnish.
The set holds decals. The model, the paints and the varnishes are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
