T-34/76, auxiliary fuel drums 1:48 is a supplementary set from the Hauler brand for the external tanks carried on the hull of the Soviet tank.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set from the Czech maker Hauler concerns the external fuel drums that T-34 tanks carried fixed to the hull, and it is cut for a particular kit, the Tamiya one. It is not a kit of the vehicle but an accessory. The exact composition of the package is given in the enclosed instructions.
The external tanks increased the range of the machine, and in the field they were refilled or jettisoned as the situation demanded. They were fixed with tightening straps and brackets on the sides and the rear of the hull, and the shape of the drums, their number and the method of fixing differed between the individual production series and units. It is precisely this lack of uniformity that makes the tanks a rewarding detail for a build.
The tightening straps are the most sensitive part of the whole. Bend the sheet around the cylindrical body gradually, with no sharp kink, and help yourself with a round rod or a drill bit of a matching diameter. Glue with only a few drops of thin cyanoacrylate. The drums on the real machines were quickly knocked about, so more pronounced weathering, rubbing on the edges and a hint of rust around the caps pay off on them.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
