A plastic kit of the American T-45C Goshawk carrier-based trainer in 1:48 scale from the South Korean brand Wolfpack, which has long specialized in trainers and less usual types. The assembled model captures a compact single-engine machine with its characteristic arrestor hook and landing gear strengthened for operation from the deck of an aircraft carrier.
The T-45 Goshawk came about as the carrier version of the British Hawk trainer, adapted for hard service with the US Navy: it was given an arrestor hook, sturdier landing gear with a nose strut for catapult launches and a range of other modifications. The T-45C version differs from the earlier A variant in an upgraded cockpit with digital displays, the so-called glass cockpit. Future pilots of US Navy carrier aircraft learn on Goshawks, including practicing landings on an aircraft carrier.
Thin cement for plastic and dry fitting the parts as you go make the build easier. We recommend a primer coat before painting; US Navy trainers wear a bold white and orange scheme, for which it pays to spray gloss white first and mask the orange areas afterwards. Apply gloss varnish under the decals, and a final satin coat will even the surface out.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
