The set replaces the exhaust pipes with a night version fitted with flame dampers, which kept the glow from blinding the crew on night sorties. This is not an aircraft model but a stand-alone accessory that raises the fidelity of the engine area.

The real subject

The Focke-Wulf Ta 154, nicknamed Moskito, was a German twin-engine night fighter of the Second World War with a largely wooden structure. For night operations it carried modified exhausts with flame dampers so that the hot gases would not give the machine away in the dark.

Building and painting tips

Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Drilling out the outlets and shading them will bring out the detail.
