A set of photo-etched metal parts for a model of the TBM-3 Avenger carrier bomber in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The TBM-3 is a late form of the Avenger carrier torpedo bomber. For its time it was a large single-engine machine with a crew of three, an internal bomb bay and a powered dorsal gun turret, flown from the decks of American aircraft carriers. The letters TBM belonged to the aircraft built by the automotive division of General Motors, while machines from the original manufacturer carried the TBF designation.
Photo-etched metal parts for a TBM-3 model in 1:48 scale. Photo-etch is used in modeling wherever a plastic part would necessarily come out too thick for the scale, and it therefore allows thin, sharply drawn shapes that cannot be achieved in injection-molded plastic. The scope of the set, the individual parts and the kit it is cut for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not by twisting, and sand the remains of the tab down with a fine file afterwards. Make the bends along the scored line and in one movement, either in a bending tool or between two blades. They are bonded with super glue applied a drop at a time with the tip of a toothpick; on larger parts a two-part adhesive holds better, because it lets you shift the part before it sets. Before painting, degrease the metal and use a primer made for etched parts, otherwise the paint will chip off as you handle it.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
