Tempest Mk.II – landing flaps 1:48 is a detail set from Eduard with accurate lowered landing flaps for models of the British Hawker Tempest Mk.II fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set lets you show a model of the Hawker Tempest Mk.II fighter with its landing flaps lowered. It replaces the closed plastic surfaces with accurate parts carrying a fine structure of ribs and rivets. This is a detail accessory, not an aircraft kit in its own right.
The Hawker Tempest Mk.II was the fighter version powered by the Bristol Centaurus radial engine. The Tempest used so-called split landing flaps, in which the lower part of the wing surface came down. Open flaps are among the strong identifying features of the machine in landing configuration.
Cut the parts off their carriers and clean them up; with resin, work with respiratory protection. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Pick the inner surfaces of the flaps out with the interior shade and a fine wash; they are usually fitted once the wing has been painted.
This is an accessory, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
