An accessory to a kit, not a model. The set brings color panels in relief printed on a decal carrier for the cockpit of the two-seat Tornado in the ECR version of the Luftwaffe. They are applied onto the plastic parts of the cockpit and replace the hand painting of the instruments, the displays and the control panels.
The Tornado ECR is a specialized version of the European combat aircraft with a variable-geometry wing, intended for suppressing enemy air defenses and for electronic warfare. German machines of this version were equipped for the role from new and in the operator's cockpit carry their own control and display elements, which differ from the strike version. The crew consists of the pilot and the operator of the weapon and reconnaissance systems.
An interior does not usually end with the panels. The Tornado has a cockpit in which, with the canopy open, the seats are clearly visible, and it is exactly the seats with their seat belts that decide the final impression. The printed panels therefore go well with a separate set of belts, whether photo-etched or likewise printed. Proceed separately: first finish and apply the panels in the cockpit, and leave the seat aside and fit it out away from the model, where you can see it properly. The belts shape better if you give them a slight natural waviness over a wooden stick than if you glue them down hard. Fit the seat at the very end, so that it is not damaged while you work.
