A bench with a tubular frame in 1:48 scale is a diorama accessory, not a kit. It will bring a piece of street furniture into a park, onto a platform and in front of a workshop.

A tubular bench is a type of street furniture with a supporting structure of bent tube and with wooden or metal slats for the seat. You will meet it in parks, on platforms, in front of offices and in factory compounds, and its simple shape passed through the second half of the twentieth century with little change. This accessory is not a model of machinery but a stand-alone object of a scene, which will give a diorama a lived-in feel.
A bench belongs anywhere people wait or rest: at a bus stop, on a platform, in a park, in front of a gatehouse. In a scene it works well as a counterweight to the main model, because it draws the eye into an empty corner of the base. It pays not to stand it exactly parallel to the edge of the diorama; a slight turn looks natural. Around a bench it is worth adding small clutter, a dropped sheet of paper or grass growing through at the feet.
After washing and drying, check whether the bench seats on the base on all its legs, and sand it carefully if not. Lay the base color down thinly, so that it does not flood the gaps between the slats. It is rewarding to paint a bench in two materials: the structure in a dark metallic or painted shade and the slats in a wooden tone, varied with a glaze or a thin brown wash slat by slat. A worn spot in the middle of the seat, chipped paint on the edges of the tube and rust at the feet of the legs are three small things with which a bench ages at once. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue; apply the drop with a pin.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and a base for the diorama are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
