A color 3D decal interior in 1:48 scale from Quinta Studio. It is not a model: it is a set of modeled color decals that replace the instrument panel, the consoles and other features of the cabin of the helicopter. The set is intended for the UH-1D plastic kit from KittyHawk.

The real subject

The Bell UH-1, nicknamed the Huey, was an American general purpose helicopter made famous above all during the Vietnam War. The UH-1D version had a lengthened fuselage and a roomier cabin for carrying troops and casualties. It became a symbol of the air mobility of the infantry.

Use

The elements are cut out, soaked briefly in lukewarm water and applied wet to the cabin parts, which have been coated with a gloss varnish. The decals are pre-printed in color, so there is no painting and no need to paint the dials. Patient pressing with a damp brush helps them settle into the recesses; a decal softener and a setting solution do not belong on these decals. Finally the interior is unified with a matte varnish.
