Responsibility details are not available.
A resin figure in 1:48 scale by Reskit representing the pilot of a General Dynamics F-111 of the US Air Force in a standing position, in the version designated type 1. You will place it beside the finished model, at the boarding ladder or in an airfield scene. A sister item offers the same pose in Royal Australian Air Force markings, so you choose by the machine you are building.
The General Dynamics F-111 was a two-seat supersonic combat aircraft with a variable-geometry wing, which the US Air Force took into service in the late 1960s. The crew sat side by side and in an emergency they were saved by a jettisonable escape capsule holding the whole cockpit instead of conventional ejection seats. Besides the tactical versions, a strategic variant and a machine for electronic warfare were built as well. The type was marked by long range, the ability to fly at low altitude and the bomb load it carried.
Wash the figure in lukewarm water with detergent before painting to remove the remains of the mold release agent. Cut the casting block away with a saw, sand the surface and protect your airways when sanding resin. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a thin primer, then the base shades of the flying gear and the skin. You bring out the volume by blending a lighter and a darker tone and by a final wash in the folds. Tune the highlights on the visor and the buckles with spots of gloss varnish so they stand out on a matte figure.
