Vintage gas station, version B, in 1:48 scale is a diorama accessory for roadside and city scenes. It is not a kit but an element of a setting.
Responsibility details are not available.
A period fueling facility is one of those subjects that give a roadside diorama a story. It explains why a vehicle is standing right here, offers an area of color and a place for figures, and creates a natural backdrop for the composition. This part is not a kit of a car or of a building but a standalone object of a scene in an older style. Two variants are made, version A and version B, and this is version B.
It suits a country road, a workshop, a garage or the edge of a small town, and it serves just as well as an overgrown and abandoned structure in a postwar scene. Place it beside a legible paved area, because a station standing on grass looks dropped there. The surroundings come to life with trodden ground, oil stains, tire marks and discarded litter. When you add a vehicle to the scene, angle it so that its side and the station can be seen at the same time.
Once it is washed and dried out, clean up the parting marks and check that the part sits level. Apply the primer thinly and choose a strong main shade, as bold color is period-correct on stations of this kind. The effect comes only with aging. Suggest flaking paint with a sponge or an almost dry brush, run rust streaks from the top down in the direction of running water, dust the bottom of the part with pigment and add a dark wash at the foot. Suggest the glazed areas with a drop of clear varnish. Go easy on the lettering, as partly worn-off writing looks more credible than a brand-new advertising panel.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and a base for the diorama are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
