An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Vought F4U-1D Corsair carrier fighter in 1:48 scale from Tamiya. This boxing contains the aircraft alone (without the airfield tug). The Corsair can be built with the wings folded or spread, with a detailed engine and two types of canopy; the box also holds drop tanks, a pilot figure and markings for several machines of American aces. Check the exact contents against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Vought F4U Corsair was among the highest-performing American carrier fighters of the Second World War, and you will recognize it by its characteristic inverted gull wing. The F4U-1D version was used from 1944; compared with the earlier machines it had, among other things, a raised pilot's seat, a taller tailwheel and wider propeller blades.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue them with liquid modeling cement for plastic. Paint and highlight the cockpit before you close the fuselage, and mask the clear canopy during spraying. Decide in advance whether you will build the wings folded or spread. Apply a primer and the paints with an airbrush, apply the decals over a gloss coat and bring out the panel lines with a wash. Carrier machines take discreet service wear well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
