This item is not a kit of the helicopter, but a detail accessory: a set of parts photo-etched from thin metal sheet by the Czech brand Eduard, aimed, as the name says, at the exterior of a model of the Westland Wessex HU.5 in 1:48 scale. Photo-etched sheet is used where injection-molded plastic cannot hold a scale thickness — on the thin sheet-metal details of the airframe surface. The exact extent of the set, the number of parts and the target kit are not stated here, so you will find what it contains in the enclosed instructions. Do not confuse it with the set for the interior of the model, which is a separate item.
The Westland Wessex was a British helicopter derived from an American design, which the British manufacturer reworked around turboshaft power. The HU.5 version served as a transport and assault machine with British naval units: it carried troops and cargo, had sliding side doors and was used in difficult conditions away from fixed bases. Its angular fuselage with the high-set gearbox and the tail boom is characteristic, and it carries a whole row of clearly visible exterior details — which is exactly what photo-etched accessories usually deal with.
Cut the photo-etched parts from the fret with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, not with cutting pliers. Make the bends in a photo-etch bender or between two razor blades, so that the edge comes out straight. They are glued with a tiny drop of cyanoacrylate glue applied with a wire or a toothpick; on larger parts the slower gel version is handy, so there is time to line things up. Degrease the bare metal before painting and spray it with a primer, or the paint will not hold. It pays to finish the exterior details with a fine wash and a careful dry brush — these are places that are clearly visible on the finished model.
This is an accessory for the build, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
