This is a small resin replacement for the rudder pedals in the Lysander cabin. It is not an airplane kit: the base model, glue and paints are not included in the package. The maker of the accessory states the set for the Westland Lysander Mk.I/Mk.III kit from Airfix in 1:48 scale. If you are building a Lysander from another manufacturer, measure the parts before buying, as the fit is stated for the Airfix kit only.
Quickboost is a range of small replacement parts: you swap one badly rendered part from a kit for a crisp casting and the effect is visible at once. On the Lysander this goes double, because the cabin is glazed and easy to look into from above, so every flattened shape catches the eye. Injection-molded plastic can only suggest the pedals, whereas resin holds a thin arm, a sharp edge and a pierced footplate. That is a level of detail a mold for plastic cannot manage.
The Westland Lysander was a British liaison and observation aircraft with an exceptionally short takeoff and landing run: thanks to its extensive high-lift devices it managed with a few dozen meters of meadow. That is exactly why it became a legend of special operations: on moonlit nights it landed on improvised strips in occupied Europe, dropping off and picking up agents, and a ladder on the side of the fuselage served for climbing into the rear cabin. On a machine like this the cabin is often built with the canopy slid back, and then every honest detail counts.
Cut the part from the casting block with a saw or a sharp knife, never snap it off, because thin resin breaks in the worst possible place. Before painting, wash it in lukewarm soapy water so that the mold release agent disappears from the surface; otherwise the paint does not hold and peels off. Polystyrene (thin) cement does not work on resin: use super glue, or epoxy on joints under load. Sand wet only, because resin dust is harmful and must not be inhaled.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
