A three-dimensionally printed colored interior on decal paper for the British Westland Sea King helicopter in the HAS.1 version, in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but finished colored cabin equipment that is fitted onto the plastic parts of a model. The instrument panel, the side consoles, the consoles and the upholstery are all done straight in color, so the slow picking out of tiny markings with a brush falls away. The name of this set carries no note about a smaller version; another set from the same brand for the same type does. The decals are shaped to the parts of the Airfix kit.
The Westland Sea King arose as a licensed version of an American naval helicopter, reworked for the Royal Navy and fitted with home-built engines and equipment. The HAS.1 version was the first antisubmarine form in service and set the shape of the whole family that followed. The machine has a long fuselage with a boat-shaped lower hull, a roomy cabin and a folding tail boom for hangar stowage on deck. It is precisely the large interior space that makes the interior a visible part of the build on a model.
Level and degrease the base so that the parts lie down over their whole area. Work from the instrument panel outward to the sides, and dry-fit each part first. Work in good light and with fine-tipped tweezers. Close the fuselage up only once everything is fully dry, and check beforehand whether the parts prevent the halves from seating.
