Responsibility details are not available.
This item is a resin accessory set of the LööK range from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, not a kit of the helicopter. The LööK range is built on a resin instrument panel, which replaces the basic version and lifts the look of the cockpit. On helicopters that pays off especially, because the extensive glazing reveals a great deal of the inside. The real subject is the Westland Sea King in the HAS.5 version in 1:48 scale.
The Westland Sea King is the British licensed version of the American Sikorsky S-61, reworked for the Royal Navy and powered by Rolls-Royce Gnome turboshaft engines. The HAS.5 version was a marked step forward in anti-submarine warfare at the beginning of the eighties. It carried a more capable search radar with a larger antenna and modernized equipment for processing the data from sonobuoys, so it could cover a substantially larger area of sea. Sea Kings of this generation proved themselves in Royal Navy operations, including service in the South Atlantic, and some of them came about by converting older machines. The type stayed in service for a very long time and became a symbol of the Fleet Air Arm.
The instrument panel belongs in the cockpit before the fuselage is closed, so do the dry fit in good time. It is a good idea to tie the surrounding interior together in color, so that the new part does not look like a foreign element. Because the cockpit is well lit, it pays to bring out the edges and the controls that will stay visible once it is finished.
