Yak-28P/PP Firebar exhaust gondols is a resin replacement part in 1:48 from the Quickboost range by the manufacturer Aires. It replaces the rear ends of the engine nacelles of a model with a more faithful casting with a deep nozzle.

This is a detail accessory of cast resin, not a kit of an aircraft. The content is the rear ends of the engine nacelles, that is the exhaust nozzles, for a model of the Yakovlev Yak-28 in 1:48. Injected plastic usually handles this part as a shallow cavity with a visible seam, whereas a casting offers real depth and a thin wall at the edge of the nozzle. The Quickboost range from the Czech manufacturer Aires concentrates on exactly these quick, unmistakably visible replacements.
The Yakovlev Yak-28 was a Soviet twin-engine aircraft with a high-set wing whose engines were housed in nacelles slung under the wing. The Yak-28P version was an interceptor known by the reporting name Firebar, while the Yak-28PP version served to jam radars. The rear part of the nacelle with the gas outlet is clearly visible from the side and from behind, and its shape is among the characteristic marks of the type.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent and rid them of any release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw and level the mating surfaces by sanding wet with your airways protected. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Before gluing, check that both nacelles have their nozzles in the same position and parallel with the axis of the aircraft, as asymmetry is apparent at once when seen from behind. Spray the inside of the nozzle in a metal shade before gluing it in and darken it once finished with a sooty wash running from the outlet forward; the outer surface around the nozzle suits a fine heat discoloration, because burnt shades form around the outlet on the real aircraft.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
