A plastic kit of the Soviet fighter Yakovlev Yak-7B (late version) in 1:48 scale from Zvezda.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from Zvezda captures the Soviet fighter Yakovlev Yak-7B in its late version. It is new tooling; the package holds plastic parts including clear ones for the glazing, a detailed engine, a pilot figure and decals for several marking options. The late version is distinguished by the cut-down rear fuselage decking behind the cockpit and an all-round teardrop canopy for a better view.
The Yak-7B was the fighter development branch of the Yakovlev family, which grew out of the originally trainer Yak-7. It was powered by a Klimov M-105 engine and carried mixed armament - a cannon firing through the propeller hub and synchronized machine guns. Thanks to sound construction, good handling and easy production it became one of the pillars of Soviet fighter aviation in the middle phase of the Great Patriotic War and prepared the ground for the later types of the Yak-9 series.
Finish and paint the cockpit, the engine and the landing gear before you close the fuselage up. Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic and canopy cement on the clear parts. Apply a base coat (primer) before airbrushing. Soviet camouflage schemes come to life nicely when the panel lines are picked out with a wash and discreet weathering is added to the exhaust staining and the scuffed areas at the wing roots.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
