This is a small accessory for figures, not a kit and not a finished figure either. The set brings the Yugoslav steel helmet in 1:48 scale, which you set on an altered figure's head, use with a vehicle crew or as equipment set down in a diorama. The manufacturer makes the same subject in other scales as well, so you can pick the one that matches your model.
The M59/85 helmet comes from the Yugoslav pattern of the end of the 1950s, which went through a revision of the liner and the chin strap in the middle of the 1980s. The shell is deep and rounded, with a smooth transition into a short edge. It was worn in the Yugoslav army and, after the state broke up, in the armed forces of the successor countries, so it suits figures and vehicles from the 1960s through to the 1990s. Combining it with equipment from another period or another army would look out of place on a model.
Wash the casting in lukewarm water with detergent, separate it from the casting block with a fine saw and level the mark with a file; sanding is better done wet and with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue. After a thin primer apply the base shade, pick out the edges with a drybrush and pull out the transition from the shell into the edge with a fine dark wash. The deep shape of the helmet takes somewhat more pronounced shading than shallow helmets without losing legibility in a small scale.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a figure. Paints, glue and other parts are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
