An ammunition belt in 7.62x51 mm NATO caliber in 1:48 scale. An accessory for the door guns of helicopters, for ammunition boxes and for scenes with a weapon crew.
Responsibility details are not available.
The 7.62x51 mm NATO caliber became the common rifle caliber of the states of the North Atlantic Alliance from the 1950s and is still used in machine guns today. In aviation it appears above all on weapons mounted in the doors of helicopters and on rotary machine guns, which because of their high rate of fire are fed by long belts from bulky boxes. It is precisely this detail, the belt running from the box to the weapon, that everyone notices on a helicopter model before anything else.
The set brings an ammunition belt in 1:48 scale. It suits weapons in doorways and open positions, ammunition boxes and a loose small item in a scene beside a machine.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a short distance from the part and sand the remainder. Wash and degrease the part before painting. Choose the glue according to the material of the part; on parts that are not polystyrene, cyanoacrylate glue has proved itself. Fit the belt only after the surroundings have been painted, so that you can reach it with a brush from every side. Painting: a dark base, a brass or copper tone along the edges of the cases and darker metal on the bullets. Anyone who wants to go further can give a few cases the faint greenish cast that older ammunition has.
For modelers who build helicopters and modern equipment in 1:48 scale, and for diorama builders. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
