F8F-2 Bearcat 3D interior 1:32 (Quinta Studio)

A colored interior set from Quinta Studio in 1:32 scale for models of the Grumman F8F-2 Bearcat fighter. The parts are 3D-printed on a decal backing paper and have a real relief, so once applied they look three-dimensional. The set usually covers the instrument panel, side panels, levers and other cockpit equipment with pre-printed colors and markings. It is based on the cockpit of the F8F-2 kit from Trumpeter.

The real subject

The Grumman F8F Bearcat was a light carrier fighter of the end of the Second World War, famous for its exceptional rate of climb and agility. The F8F-2 version brought a higher-altitude engine and changes to the armament. A detailed cockpit underlines the compact and powerful character of this machine.

Use

• run a gloss coat over the clean cockpit surface, cut the part from the sheet and soak it for about fifteen seconds in lukewarm water
• slide the part off the paper into place; it has no adhesive layer of its own and holds on the coat, and on a broken surface a drop of cyanoacrylate glue helps
• do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as the chemicals attack the printed resin
