The 5.56x45 mm NATO cartridge is the standard rifle ammunition of the states of the North Atlantic Alliance. In a belt it appears with light machine guns, which are a natural part of the equipment of soldiers and vehicles alike, and it is exactly such small things that turn a nicely built model into a convincing scene.
The set brings an ammunition belt in 5.56x45 mm NATO caliber in 1:72 scale. It is an accessory for a model or for a diorama that replaces a simplified kit part or fills a place where the kit contains nothing.
The parts are very small at this scale, so work with tweezers over a light surface and with plenty of light. The material is not polystyrene, so it is glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a short distance from the part and sand the remainder carefully. Wash and degrease the part before painting. A dark base, a metallic shade on the cases and a dark wash into the recesses, which visually separates the belt into individual rounds, works well.
The accessory will be appreciated by modelers who are finishing the small details of vehicles and figures in a small scale and want the armament rendered more convincingly than it comes out of a kit mold.
